Through a friend, I was told about opportunities that a woman owned business might have in certain, shall we say under represented, sectors. (My friend works for a defense contractor and suggested that suppliers of women owned companies have a distinct advantage when competing for contracts with government payers). I looked a bit into the opportunities provided by the government: such as the mentor/protégé program, various grants, and possibly even joint ventures if doing a contract for the DOD. As someone, completely foreign to this sort of thing (I work in healthcare for a large company) where is a good place to gain knowledge about being a supplier to various government payers. Anyone here with any experience in this or any experience with the mentor/protégé program?

Thanks!
