Starting a foundation

Anyone ever thought of starting their own foundation? I have.

I am looking at how to do this right now and I think I will setup my very first foundation this year. I will deposit my own money (not all of them).

The aim will be to support the police force of my beloved home city.

I have gotten an increased interest for the whole idea behind foundations (not for sheltering myself from taxes, but actually because of the idea behind philanthropy).

Think about it: You have, say, a couple of million dollars under management. The police authority comes to you to get new things financed. Maybe a new force of robots for disarming bombs or maybe a new police car or why not a new innovative gadget to increase the safety when arresting a criminal. Isn't that just inspiring? Inspiring to be the one that makes this evolution happen.

Being a contributor and getting noticed as such. Being written into the history books of that particular city, country or even written into the world history books (if you are like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet).

Instead of just saying that something should change, be the one who do change things. That is something I have come to fall in love with. I have even started to fantasize about it daily now. I get pumped up about it. A little cozy feeling inside. I am in love, it has to be love I am feeling. I will do this.
