I realized something the other day, I know A LOT of people now. People who were strangers a few months ago, now are acquaintances and friends.
We moved halfway across the US 6 months ago, and knew NO-ONE here in this city.
Now when I walk around markets, people smile and wave, ask how my business and family is... Make product/service trades etc..
Even just walking around the city, I will have random people say they met me at a fair and stop to chat for a bit..
IT IS SO NICE
I did a store demo the other day, slower pace, I got to have some great conversations with people I never met. I was thinking to myself, people are missing out!
It is so nice to connect with people, it's fun, and interesting.
I truly don't know how I made it through life before. Of course I always had friends at workplaces but, getting to talk to this many people, this often is something special.
Funny enough as a teenager I hated the thought of this, hated people, worshiped self...
But as I matured, I just find the blessing in sharing an awesome product with strangers, seeing them light up.. Making that connection, hearing their story... And if I see them again we are no longer strangers.
TLDR: Finding your tribe can be hard, but make a pubic facing business and it's the Fastlane to human connection and belonging. Especially in a new city!
Only downside is I'm known as "The Hummus dude!" hahaha
