Quick words for the Speedway.
Name's Justin. You can call me J if you'd like.
I'm building an Internet business called CSurgeons. It's a lead generation service for surgeons based around people who want to get a surgeon in their area. Traffic is mostly from PPC and social, trying to learn SEO but it's pretty difficult to wrap my head around atm.
It's currently in the process of being an actual entity. By the end of next week, I should be completely set up and ready for business, revenue and all.
This is my first 'real' business. In high school I used to mow lawns and fix computers for cash. I never got a job (I applied for loads, got a few interviews but failed) but I did a couple days doing temp work in a car dealership's IT department. I got CompTIA A+ and Net+ certs at 15, MCP in Windows XP at 16 and MCP in Windows Server 2003 at 17. I read RDPD at 14 and it really showed me what I wanted to do with my life: I wanted to build, run and sell businesses.
Fast forward to the summer after graduation. I found The Millionaire Fastlane and, well, I loved it. It was informative, fun to read and it gave me a true direction. I still read snippets of it from time to time to remind me of what I'm working towards.
It hasn't been what I expected. Building a start up is tough, it's stressful, and it sometimes feels like nobody wants me to succeed. It sometimes feels impossible and it makes me wonder if I should have focused my efforts in getting a job this summer instead of doing this. But I know my end goal: a Lamborghini Gallardo Nera LP-570 in the garage, a paid off home in a nice, scenic location and residual income, resulting in free time to do whatever the hell I wanna do.
Currently I'm going to school at the University of Toronto Scarborough, doing Management and Marketing. Did a year at NYU and it was loads of fun but too expensive. Plus a $5k tuition hike? No thanks. I'd rather move, be closer to my girlfriend and have lower expenses going forward.
So that's me. I actually... never made an intro post before this. You can follow my progress through my blog here, which may end up being moved to a different Web site. Haven't decided yet.
