Social Links On New Business Site?

First, sorry if this is in the wrong section. That warning freaks me out.

I came here this morning after reading TMF and some posts here. I had no idea on what I was going to do but I knew it would be Fastlane.

Fast forward 12 hours later, Idea is there, domain is bought, cold calling starts tomorrow, research/plan/financials are in order, I ran my idea through CENTS, competition researched (or I as like to call them, people who will buy my company 5 years from now), I even have an exit strategy already and the developer is on the website as I write this.

Here's my question. I know social media is important and I guess people feel more comfortable or whatever seeing the links on the site. But if those links lead to a Facebook page with no posts or a Twitter account with no followers does that do more harm then good?
