I recently got a new dedicated server that is streaming video (flv). When I access the site it is super slow. When I try to download a 100mb file, it takes forever (20 minutes+). I was the only person on the site at this time. Traffic isn't an issue because the site isn't live.
I called support and they can stream no problem. They gave my a 100mb zip file to download from their datacenter and I was able to download it in 1 minute.
I asked my friends to test the site and the results were 50/50.
Me - Scottsdale - site very slow
Scottsdale - streamed no problem
Tucson - site very slow
NY - site very slow
LA - streamed no problem
Chicago - streamed no problem
I don't think its a location issue. But I will continue to have friends test.
Any ideas on where to check for problems? Code? Server? Pipe? Internet?
