Great stuff in here.

It was in MJ's books, if i remember correctly,

"Looking back on life full of regrets sucks."

Sometimes i'm speaking to elderly ladies and gentlemens in retirement or nursing homes, and they're often talking in great lengths about things they wish they'd done while still beeing able to.

So i often find myself thinking about these conversations ... if you stop pursuing your dreams - if you stop pushing now because it seems temporary hard... this is you in 40-50 years.

Puts things in perspective.

"Concentrate every minute like a Roman – like a man – on doing what’s in front of you with precise and genuine seriousness, tenderly, willingly, with justice. And on freeing yourself from all other distractions. Yes, you can – if you do everything as if it were the last thing you were doing in your life, and stop being aimless, stop letting your emotions override what your mind tells you, stop being hypocritical, self-centered, irritable. You see how few things you have to do to live a satisfying and reverent life? If you can manage this, that’s all even the gods can ask of you." – Marcus Aurelius, from the book ‘Meditations’

I saw this one while I was watching a YT video on Boston Celtics championship year 2008 in their training facillity.

"What hurts more the pain of hard work or the pain of the regret ?"

I keep reading this quote daily ever since.

"Pretend that everyone else is hemmed in by predetermination but that you, and you alone, have been given free-will."
- Ryan Holiday's blog / Bertrand Russel?

This quote lowered my social anxiety and made it much harder to get angry or frustrated at someone.

If this thread gets bumped in a few years' time I'll be quoting you. Thank you for sharing this one, Flow.

I know it's not a one liner, but there's a lot of songs that motivate me too. Even though the style of this one (metal) is not for everyone, the lyrics are really great.

Vice Grip - Parkway Drive

A system of complete control
The pressure builds
It wraps its hands around your throat
A constant battle
A silent war of mind and soul

get up, get up
One life, one shot, give it all you got
(Yeah, yeah, yeah) get up, get up
Keep the flame alive
Hope for the hopeless, a light in the darkness
Hope for the hopeless, a light in, a light in the dark

The chains set to break your soul Day by day
You know the choice you have to make
Freeze up and fade
Or be the flame that lights the way

...

Would it be a good idea to start a similar thread for songs ?

@The Abundant Man that sure was abundant but what one single quote has impacted your life the most?

What most resonated with you? Stopped you in your tracks and gave you that aha, or holy sh*t! moment?
"Be someone. Don't just say that you're someone... She wants you to be her hero that will change the world."-Models: Attract Women Through Honesty by Mark Manson(Author of Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck)

"Ultimately, this is what most women want. If you look at romance novels-the female version of porn-they all more or less follow the same exact pattern: hard and rugged bad boy type male hero is troubled but strong, and as he slowly opens up and shares his true emotions and desires with the heroine, she's able to support him, to save him and ultimately fall in love. Of course, they live happily ever after.

This is more or less the blueprint of seduction: a strong high status attractive exterior(lifestyle and looks), fearless, and able to open up and share your vulnerabel side with her(and theoretically only her). Women get weak in the knees for this and it's not even conscious in them most of the time."

The man with experience is never at the mercy of the man with an argument.
This! Now that I have left my corporate sales / consulting type job this statement succinctly states the perception i have about how a lot of the sales force (management, salespeople, etc.) approach the customers. Its like theory vs. reality..
You can create a good argument that sounds good but if the experience of the customer is totally different than what the sales side ever experience or simply knows and understands than it is hard to really be seen as credible and influential - especially regarding matters of how to help the customer grow their business.

If I may take a bit longer than one line?

A man said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation.”
For some reasons, this reminds me of the folks demanding for UBI...
