Thank you for sharing your progress. What do you think about selling your product to the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
The Armed Forces of Ukraine would definitely be interested in those products. No doubt. However, selling to foreign countries depends on many factors that I cannot discuss without getting into politics.

Thank you for your opinion. I agree that information on military projects should remain confidential.

What has happened since my last post:
  • A NATO country ordered some product samples;
  • Visited another NATO fair with my products;
  • Reinvented some ideas and sold them to the military;
  • Was asked to speak at a NATO workshop;
  • Found four product ideas (the military is waiting for the prototypes);
  • Established connections abroad.
I also received information that a NATO country is preparing to procure some of my products. Fingers crossed!

I was wondering if I'd ever see my job show up on here. I'm a government (military in my case) Contracting Officer. I lurk here often. I can answer some basic questions. The government buys almost everything you can think of and a lot of things you couldn't.
This forum is awesome! I've already learned something that has expanded my awareness of the world on day 1!
The War Dogs reference was cool too.

What has happened since my last post:
  • Invented two new products that are right now being tested by the military. They are niche products but still are applicable in every NATO country. There is definitely a demand for the products.
  • Visited again abroad a NATO fair and promoted my products. I tried not to be so shy. Besides the products, my booth had only a rollup banner stand and some flyers. I could not fit more stuff into my baggage because I had to travel alone and by air. The multi-million companies that were next to me had 3 times bigger booths with custom flooring and even coffee machines. But still, visitors showed great interest in my products.
  • Found a manufacturer that agreed to manufacture my products even in small batches.
  • Made a couple of small sales. The last sale was probably to most important of my life because two weeks after the sale a NATO country announced a procurement for devices that are heavily related to my products. Thanks to the last sale I met the minimum requirements and qualified for the big 8-figure contract.
Now I can sit by the same table with the "custom flooring and coffee machine" guys.

And that is all I wanted- just a chance.

Congratulations with your succes so far!

I saw you had some issues with 3D printing PA6, have you looked at SLS printing (also available with PA6)? I prefer this over CNC milling, since the prototypes have a more premium look and feel to it.

Might be interesting for your future projects and prototypes.

A reusable plastic handcuff would be a good idea. Good for the environment.

I remember that military uses cable tie for everything. It leaves a lot of waste when at the end of the day you have to cut all of them and discard them.

I am currently workng for a company involved with GSA- (General services Administration), allowing for direct sales with the government- net 30 or direct pay depending on size of the order. You avoid the public bidding process, guaranteed getting paid and a government pay agent you work with directly. Certain things may not qualify, but you can find out about bidding. At least that way you know you will get paid as their are procedures that must be followed, especially when submitting invoices.
