Apologies if this has been posted. I could not find it when searching.

Does anyone LOVE their accountant and/or attorney? I am US-based but I suppose that with Zoom, etc., these A+ A's don't need to live near me. Maybe state law matters so I am currently in MO but aiming to move back to CA (or NV or UT if that cost of living allows me to save more freedom fighters $$$)

Thank you and THANKS to MJ for creating these excellent tools. I am a kid in a candy store, here.

No point in one of your fellow countrymen mentioning a Tax Specialist (Accountant) if you are looking for a Murder Defence Barrister (Attorney)

Without being too facetious :)

The attorney is less urgent. More for consulting as needed, to protect. In my past business, I got sued by one crook and robbed by another. I learned my lesson about being more watchful of the details and less trusting (before it's earned). Bottom line: attorney needs are less urgent and will evolve over time. It may involve patent or IP protection, it may involve liability risk minimization (for an Internet business).

I currently have an accountant, making doing my S-corp taxes but I am evaluating whether or not he is a great help, and has expertise helping business owners read the numbers and save money and not pay any "Dumb Taxes" (penalties for not knowing all the ins and outs of accounting and taxes).

Thanks!

I would personally want to sit down face to face with an attorney to discuss exposure to liability... The more pressing thing I would be looking for right now is business liability insurance.

Also, Patent/IP attorneys are rarely work on risk mitigation stuff so you'll need more than one.

As far as the accountant thing, I would also be looking for a local accountant because they will know your state's protocol. I am sure your "dumb" taxes are about to go up if you are moving to CA. LOL. Sorry man.

Isn't government great? All of these wonderful considerations so we can have the privilege of letting them plunder half of everything we put into the world.
