Death of a Drop-Shipper

Good drop from Skallas.
I don't want to say I'm disappointed, since this will be better overall for the country and my generation and gen Z once re-shoring is complete and wages and standard of living finally inch up, but a big potential path to getting out of the game (partially) just went up in smoke lul.
Granted, dropshipping was something I always looked at, but I never saw an "opportunity" that wasn't a) more crap or b) something original that would get cloned and thrown onto amazon within seconds of me sending over a technical data package and requesting samples. I don't remember which thread I posted it in but I remember a twitter post of a guy who made a funky little lamp and the day after his sample pics were sent to him for review from the factory he found the same product already listed on aliexpress WITH HIS SAME SAMPLE IMAGES HE RECEIVED.
I think in the future, Ryan Moran's paradigm of having that community/fans will only become bigger, the question will be how can younger entrepreneurs still play the product development/sales game with increased costs, or massively increased costs going with U.S. manufacturing.
Already seeing a lot of people complaining about the lack of speedy development and prototyping shops here in the U.S., which means there's a whole stinking heap of opportunity there for anyone willing to learn CAD/CNC/Milling and get a million dollar loan for equipment (but I've met @machinistguy in person so I know it's definitely possible).
Addendum: What did surprise me, the business I'm most enthusiastic about that I saw the most ability to provide value in, a nutrition brand, seems to be unaffected outside of packaging, I need to call one of my qouting comans again but outside of packaging being potentially affected by tariffs, they were only using U.S. sourced ingredients and my COGS wouldn't shift much, neat. On the other hand, people running money-printing supplement brands got kneecapped because apparently most of them were white-labeling chinese bathtub supplements with questionable quality. There's a lesson in there.
