Seems like poland always getting short end of the stick. Have to see how this ukraine debacle pans out.

Why sad but true? Poland feels like a first world country compared to many countries in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe, to me, feels like Poland was about 20-30 years ago. These days, Poland is way more like Western Europe than Eastern Europe.

Yes but many poles are still leaving due to economic regression... they have done real well infrastructure wise but still they are still losing their talents to western europe.

I see very few people these days leaving Poland to work abroad. Yes, there are some uneducated people looking for better jobs in Scandinavia. And yes, there are also some specialists leaving Poland if they have better opportunities in other countries.

But overall, in the recent years Poland has transformed from a country of emigration to a country of immigration. A LOT of foreigners are coming to Poland now to work (not just from Ukraine but also many Asian countries).

IMO the country is definitely booming now and it's been a pleasure to see how it has changed for the better in the past decade or so. And I'm saying it as a guy who used to be very critical of Poland (but then I traveled to 30+ countries and my criticism turned into appreciation).

This doesn't change the fact that Poland is terrible in the fall/winter but spring, and particularly summer is glorious.

Agrees however after living in scandinavia there seems to be only skilled trade coming here. But to your point and to be fair, the polish workers i had just were here to work and they would go back and bring that money back to their home villages.

I cant wait to live in wroclaw and i hear there is a ton of industry springing up there.

Yes, and it makes a lot of (financial) sense. If I weren't entrepreneurial I think I would have done the same. Go work for a couple of years for a shit ton of money in Scandinavia, save as much as you can, and go back to Poland to buy a house with cash or alternatively have solid start-up capital for a nice business.

Wrocław (and the entire area of southern Poland between Wrocław and roughly Kraków but particularly Silesia) is very industrialized. Not great if you want to live in a quiet area with easy access to nature but there's definitely way more jobs and money there than in other areas of Poland (except for a few big cities like Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań, and Szczecin).

Anything east of Poland is Eastern Europe.

Fortunately my place is near a quiet park. I got lucky.
