I'm start this progress thread because looks like a great way to share my experiences and keep focused.
I'll try to keep this thread as simple as possible. And I'll be editing this post with updates instead of lots of updates lost in the thread, but I'll post telling that I updated the thread for any subscribers.
Business
I decided to go into the App Business, but for no particular reason. It's just something that sounded fun and I think that I would be good at.
I'm doing this more for fun than for money. Of course I want to have millions in my bank account, drive a ferrari and that kind of stuff, but it's not my focus at the moment. So, I haven't done a business plan, and I don't think it's the most important thing right now, but if the app works, make money will be easy.
The developing part is going great, it's almost done, but I still have a lot to do. The design is not that good, and I'm not releasing an app with bad design. I have some money to keep thing running if I have a low number of users, if it grows I'll have to start going to some investors, but if it really grows, they would come to me. But, as I said, making money would be easy.
I'm a little worried about the marketing stuff, I not very good at this. I'm going to read a lot about this before I release my app, but I'm worried of not doing it right. Anyone have some tips about marketing a mobile app?
I have a few competitors on Google Play, but they ain't big enough to scare me. And I believe that my product (that at the moment is incomplete) is way more complete than 90% of my competitors. There's probably less than 10 apps like mine in the market (and I think only one have a little bit more than 1 million downloads), but I know that there's a huge market for this.
My app will be distributed for free, and I would probably monetize it selling in-app extras or advertising.
The app will probably be released in two weeks, but I'm hoping to get it next week on Google Play. It's in its final development stage, but there are still lots of things to do, test, polish, and include to launch a really complete and simple product.

I don't think that there's much thing left to do... Everything is working, I included every feature necessary for a first version, but I'm a little insecure about the design. I was never good at this, so I hope that somebody could give me some tips of what should I remove or what to do different.
