Opportunity Goggles

Been here on the forum for a while. I attended the BP 2010, met lots of amazing folks working on or riding their fastlane including MJ, (He is the real deal by the way). I'm a bit shy and reserved, so I feel like I don't have alot to add to the content, so I post only when I feel I can add value to the community.
Anyway my wife and I have both read MJ's book and believe that the fastlane exists and know that up to this point we have been rampant sidewalkers. I have been able to help my wife understand that her "flipflop" business, is her passion, not the worlds. So my questions is, so far we know there is TONS OF OPPORTUNITY out there but for some reason we can not see them? Is there anything we can do to be able to better SEE through the opportunity goggles? I understand that it's not the idea, but the execution, but up to this point we haven't been able to pinpoint the idea, so we can execute? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
