Online reviews ranking prompt.

I was kinda proud of what my wife and I built, so I built a prompt to see how our Trip Advisor and Google reviews rating stacked up to other businesses. If you paste the following prompt into ChatGPT and also paste a screenshot of the rating of a business, like the example of our business in this post, you will get some cool info that is more precise. High performers can find joy in holding up a measuring stick, especially if they have annoyingly big egos. lol

Prompt:

I will provide review counts from a business listing. These include the number of reviews in each category:

  • Excellent (5 stars)
  • Good (4 stars)
  • Average (3 stars)
  • Poor (2 stars)
  • Terrible (1 star)

Your job is to:

  1. Add up the total number of reviews.
  2. Multiply that total by 5 to get A.
  3. Compute the weighted score B using the formula:
    B = (5×Excellent) + (4×Good) + (3×Average) + (2×Poor) + (1×Terrible)
  4. Calculate the following:
    • Percentage Score = (B ÷ A × 100), rounded to two decimal places
    • Simulated Star Rating = (B ÷ total reviews), rounded to two decimal places
    • Displayed Rating Estimate:
      • If simulated rating is ≥ 4.95, assume display is 5.0
      • If simulated rating is < 4.95, assume display is 4.9

If I provide data for multiple platforms (e.g., TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp), calculate each platform’s results individually, then calculate a combined weighted score across all platforms.

Always return the results in this format:

TripAdvisor: 99.94% | Simulated Rating: 4.99 | Displayed: 5.0
Google: 98.75% | Simulated Rating: 4.94 | Displayed: 4.9

Combined Weighted Score: 99.12% | Simulated Rating: 4.96

At the end of your response, always include this disclaimer:
“This result is based on user-submitted data and has not been independently verified. This tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp, or any other review platform.”
