OK... not really "prowling", but I am looking for a team. Either an existing one that needs someone like me, or building one with specific people who are smarter than me. People I can turn to whenever I have questions and who will support me when I need it most.
I realize now, after all this time being on the forum, that the only way this is going to happen is if I tell my story: (This is not easy for me because I am an intensely private person.) Here it goes... About 16 years ago, just after my 23rd birthday, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. It's a devastating inflammatory chronic disease that has the ability to affect every organ in the body, including the joints. It goes in cycles of flare and remission. I might feel fine for a couple of years and then BAM! be in bed for several months, with another several months of recovery afterward. It's totally unpredictable, but I was "managing" it pretty well until four years ago. A series of traumatic events, hitting me one after another without any time to recover nearly took my life. I lost everything, filed for bankruptcy, moved in with my relatives, and waited for the inevitable....
I could barely move, and each night as I went to bed I wondered whether or not I would wake up the next morning. This went on for about a year. I would start to recover slightly, then crash again. I didn't know how many more "crashes" I could survive, so I said started making peace with certain family members in an attempt to move on.
I had/have no money so I could not see a doctor. Not that seeing a doctor would have helped me anyway. All they would do was take a look at me, give me a pill, and send me home. (I've been to SEVERAL doctors, so I know.) Then, after realizing that for some strange reason I wasn't dead yet, I started trying to do something about it. The only thing I could do was read a book by a doctor who practiced Environmental Medicine (cognitively, it was difficult for me to read, but I slowly made it through). I told my relatives about the book and about a doctor I could see and asked them for help in paying for me to see him. (I don't qualify for government assistance.) My family is nowhere near wealthy, so I knew this would be a financial hardship on them... in addition to the hardship I was already placing on them by having me, as an adult, move in with them (and my two dogs, too). They agreed to do it anyway.
This doctor tested me for things no other doctors had even thought to do. And after several months of testing and treatment it was discovered that I had practically every insufficiency and deficiency known to man. I was severely anemic, had vitamin and mineral deficiencies, my tissues were not utilizing the oxygen they needed in order to be able to function properly, and I had stage III adrenal gland failure (stage IV is death). I still have all of these things, but the doctor has been slowly, very slowly, bringing me back from the brink. Replenishing, rebuilding, and restoring my body. (For some reason the theme to the Six Million Dollar Man just flashed through my head... you know..."We can rebuild him...Better, Stronger Faster." :smug2: )
I am about three months into what looks like a year-long recovery process. But what I think would help to accelerate my progression (other than avoiding stress and negative people) is if I am connected to very positive and uplifting people, which is why I am a member of this forum.
During this time of recovery, I have had a lot of time to reflect not only on my physical healing, but also on my mind and soul. I've read several books (now that I have the energy to read) on self-improvement. Some of the latest ones were Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker and Please Understand Me II by David Keirsey. Studying both of these books together has helped me understand how I got into this position in the first place, and also how to go forward from here.
So, what I have to offer an existing team is that I am a natural-born diplomat, and strive for harmony and cooperation in the workplace and the home. My eye is always focused on inclusion, not exclusion, on what gifts people can offer each other, not what walls divide them. My weaknesses are in strategy, logistics and tactics. These things are not natural for me. You might as well ask a turtle to turn into a crocodile if you want me to possess these characteristics. Which is why I am looking for people who do possess these characteristics. People who can fill in the blanks and complement my talents and skills, then hopefully we can ALL excel and grow our businesses, our lives, and our abundance exponentially!
My dream/goal is to make $100,000 from my blog/ebook to either invest in stocks or on flipping websites. Then when I reach $1 Million dollars doing that...well....I think I would like to keep the next step private for now. I have no idea where this path is going to take me. And as Bonnie Hunt says, "If you ever want to make God laugh, just make plans for your life." :smilielol: I'm living proof of that, so I'll keep the next step to myself for now. Plus, another opportunity might present itself that might help me reach my goals sooner. So, I'm keeping a Zen attitude and am open and willing to receive.
Sorry this is so long... or if I posted it in the wrong section. But to wrap up, if someone could either point me to a team where someone like me might fit in, or if there are people who possess the skills and characteristics I lack who would like to form a team with me, I'm all for it!
Thanks everybody!
Kim
