As I mentioned in the http://www.thefastlanetomillions.com/general-business-discussion/18133-local-gatherings.html thread I wanted to start a thread dedicated specifically to local Chicago-area gatherings. With B&P being a major discussion topic on the forums, one of our first points could be who is going and how we are getting there(helping each other find the best travel options?). On top of that we can make our own "B&P", being that we can have monthly and possibly weekly/bi-weekly meetings where we all get together and start working on goal setting, but most of all, get to know each other both personally and professionally. I would like the goal of these meetings to be just that, not only should we talk about our professional goals, but be support for each other on personal goals, i.e. I want to start losing weight so I can shoot for a sub 5-hour marathon this year OR I would like to become more organized not only in time management, but in my own living space. Finally, if we have any visiting members, we can have a gathering to meet up, i.e. when Sean(MrPink) drove through, it would've been nice to roll-out the fastlane "red-carpet" and hang out!(we met at Starbucks and talked about business ideas and got to know each other as well)
So without further ado, as Alex suggested in the other thread, how does a New Year's Day inaugural gathering sound?
Since New Year's is usually the day that most make goals, usually in the form of a "resolution", why not make it around people who will hold you accountable and most of all who will support you along the way?
For New Year's I would like to a discuss a time/location, but I think a local Starbucks, possibly the one at Streets of Woodfield and a time being after 1pm as some of our might be recovering from the night before :smxB:
Also, I need to check and make sure they're open first and if not, if we could find another public place that is and hopefully we can have future gatherings at our homes(I'm open to that, once I get to know you all better :coolgleamA
