New Guy: already entrepreneur but new to Fastlane

Hi everyone, I’m pretty new here. I broke the rules and have been lurking for a bit but I have been finding and reading a lot of valuable content so thanks to all of you! I'm kind of new to this entrepreneur stuff but I'm kind of not. I have started 2 business in the past, I wouldn't necessarily call them failures, but they didn't end up working out long term. Mostly because I got caught up in the rat race and at that time in my life, I was of the mindset that a steady job and a 401K was the best way to success and wealth. (This was well before life slapped me in the face and long before I read M.J.'s books)

Anyway, I knew something wasn't right when I hit the 8 year anniversary with my most recent employer and realized that nothing was truly changing. Sure, I had successes and promotions and raises within the company. But the big picture wasn't working out for me and I knew I needed to make some serious changes. I quit my job and started a residential construction company with my cousin as 50/50 partners. Well that ended up being a mistake. I don't regret it, and a lot of good has come from making the leap, but the partnership and original business plan deteriorated quickly. It was during that time that we were working a job that was over 2 hours away from home and I was miserable with the situation I was in. Some internet business advice searching led me to The Millionaire Fastlane . I bought it on Audiobook and listened to it during my commute and it honestly changed my life and my perception on a lot of things, it just really spoke to me. I’m very grateful for everything playing out that way because that book has already brought a lot of positivity into my life, and I truly feel I’m now figuring out my journey to bigger and better things.

Now I own 100% of my construction business, my cousin and I parted ways. I restructured the business in a way that I thought was best and it is going pretty well. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s Fastlane. But, that is my quick story which brings me to now and why I’m here! I’m writing another post right after this called “I’m cheating on my business” which is going to address my struggle between working on my contracting business and my Fastlane business ideas. So, if you have any insight on that type of thing please feel free to throw some advice my way!
