Need to get my product from China to US

I need some advice from those of you that import products from China to the US for your business. What method do you use for getting your product over here. I have ordered smaller items before, but the item I will be selling is a little bigger. The supplier is saying they want to ship it by sea and I will need to arrange pickup from there. I have heard hiring a shipping broker to deal with it may be a good option as well. I am waiting for the supplier to email me back with the exact size and weight, and was thinking about contacting some companies such as TNT, UPS, or FEDEX to see what they would charge me. I am sure there are things I am missing, but I would like to get a smooth process in place now since I will be having products shipped to me regularly now. I would greatly appreciate some advice from those of you that are veterans or experienced in this area and what process you use for larger products and quantities. I greatly appreciate it! This is the final step needed before I can get my first shipment and I am really stuck on this part.😕
