This month I exited my coaching business with the long-term goal of building a software company/SaaS. To find a good idea and better understand the market, I thought of offering tech consulting services to various businesses.
In my experience, many business owners don't use the right tools and do unnecessary manual work. Sometimes, they even need small custom-made software that brings significant improvements.
As a software developer, I've built many tools for my coaching business in areas such as marketing, sales, fulfillment, and operations. This makes it difficult for me to choose a niche and craft a specific offer. Given my long-term goal, I’d like to keep my options broad and work with various businesses until I decide what software to build.
On the other hand, not having a niched-down offer makes it more difficult to generate calls and get my first clients.
How can I approach this problem?
