Just in case you guys missed this, few days ago I came here asking on how on the business side on how I should combine my love of making short films and all sorts of movies to making any other sort of movie to helping other needs.
Ive decided for now I'm going to make some extra cash by filming other peoples events, such as birthday parties, weddings, sports events or any other types of events-and from this is another way to get some money and to start my own production company
This week or next week i'm getting a new computer dedicated to work, such as school and making films, till then i'm figuring out how to get this idea out there. One way is making flyers, posting on myspace and craigslist.
But first i'm going to see from my friends and their parents if they can let me film any events they need so I can have some events to show.- should i charge this or should i do this for free when starting out the first few events-this is where i get a little stuck on what i should do
how much should you think i should charge for this. Should I charge hourly, if so how much? How much should i charge for dvd's.
Here's what I'm thinking of putting on my flyer
"Need a particular memory or event saved in the best condition? Call (my number) and we'll film any memorable event you need to how YOU want it with the excellent quality it deserves!"
What do you guys think?
If you can, you guys can help me out by giving suggestion on what else to say on the flyers and suggest other ways of getting this out there and how to run this business. Any say is welcome as long if it's constructive.
