Hello everybody! From the St. Louis area
Where to start? I am 26, just turned in August, and my entire outlook on life has changed quite a bit over the past few years. However it really took a big leap when I read the Fastlane.
I started a Commercial Cleaning company when I was 18. I quickly grew it to about a 45k a year job that did well for me considering my age and the area I'm in. But here is the huge downside, I am still doing it 8 years later and not making a whole lot more. I see the limits I have reached. Even with hiring on people, the amount of stress and limits of scale are frustrating o say the least. I am so done with this.
On top of that I started a Photography business with my wife. It has taken off and we are making about 35k this first big year, adn should make about 50k next year based on our booking rate. But to what end?!
I had a long conversation with my wife just yesterday wondering what this is all for. Even if we play our cards right and "save" and do it "Daves" way its still NOT ENOUGH!
On top of that both of our families struggle with money and I don't see the next decade being pleasant for them considering the circumstances. I want to be there and have the means to help.
I have about 40k debt that is very low interest not including my house, and about 30k in savings.
So far I have NO idea what I'm going to do to get out of this trap, but I know I can learn, and I have the drive to make this happen. Hopefully sooner then later.
