I came up with a brilliant social networking site for pickup basketball. I started building the site on Intuit websites right away. After one month I had the site working for one city and was ready to start promoting the site only to find out that there is a site called infinitehoops created by a software engineer. His site is in every city in the U.S. and even around the world he also has a mobile app. I have absolutely no computer experience and there is no way I can compete on that level with this site. The only thing that makes me want to keep tying is Infinatehoops is boring. The site is drab and mechanical. My site was called Hoophookups.com and as soon as I discovered Infinitehoops, I cancelled my site. I can reinstate it in the morning and I think I will because I feel I gave up too easy. My question for the forum is this: Should I attempt to compete w/this site because this guy is a software programmer and it would take me years to learn what he knows or should I chalk this one up as a loss?
