What's up guys. My name is Terrell and this is my first post here, but I wanted to start off by showing you guys what I've been working on for the last 10 months.

I read the Millionaire Fastlane about a year ago. And it was the book that made me realize being an entrepreneur was what I've always wanted. So I spent about a month figuring out what I most wanted to do because I had a ton of ideas in my head.

In the end, I settled on my vision of making selling online simple, and giving anyone a platform to quickly sell a digital product like an ebook, video, info product ext. The problem was that I had no technical abilities and Wordpress just wasn't gonna cut it! So i spent 3 months learning 5 different programming languages. And then another 5 months actually building my idea. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I finally finished it!

I just put it into private beta, and I'm excited to get feedback about it. If you guys are interested, you can check it out at

Link: https://launchtagg.com

It would be great to hear what you guys think about the idea, and I look forward to hearing any suggestions you guys have!

thanks

It seems like a pretty neat idea that has a lot of potential.

Speed+ for taking the initiative to learn those languages.

I like the basic feel of your website. If I had to make a suggestion, I would probably change the size of those pictures you have on the front page (and maybe even the type of picture, since I don't understand how they relate to your product). When I was scrolling down, I almost felt like stopping each time I hit a picture, maybe thinking the page was done. I probably wouldn't have kept scrolling had I not been there to look at your site specifically.

Good job, and good luck :)

Thanks Mayana! I never thought about it like that, but your probably right about making the pictures smaller. I'm gonna test it out and see.

Wow! I admire your willpower to learn those programming languages. I've taken programming language as a course and I know it's not easy. Keep it up!

Hey, looks like a great job

So i spent 3 months learning 5 different programming languages
I am a little curious about this. Normally it took years to even learn one programming language.

Make shure that a php/sql specialist verify your code ! Especially if you working with payment and earning systems!

It’s hard to php in 3 month but 5 languages?! Wow! Did you do all on your own or are you working with a team?

with kind regards
joschi

Cool site, I really like the top part but as you scroll down I think it struggles.

On chrome as you scroll the pictures scroll as well, its sorta hard to explain, I have never seen it before but its kinda trippy, as you scroll the pictures move under the word part that explains the site. It made me want to back out before I got to the bottom. It might be a chrome issue?

So, are you competing with amazon and clickbank? Seemed more like a clickbank competitor with the addition of the songs aspect?

The site looks great but the pictures distract from its purpose, at first I thought it was for sharing pictures. What I don't quite understand is why I would choose your service to sell my ebook instead of click bank and why would I choose your service to sell my song instead of iTunes or whatever? Is it just simpler and easier?

Thanks joschi! Yeah everyone told me that it was going to take years when I first started. But I'm usually impatient when I get really motivated haha. So I wasn't willing to wait years to bring my idea to life! I never wanted to be a programmer, but I wanted to build Launchtagg, and I had no money to hire somebody else... so I had to do it.

I wish I could say it was easy, but it was actually the hardest thing I've ever done. Especially since I had to do it alone. For the first 3 months, I didn't go out, I didn't hang out with my friends, I skipped every party or event that came up ,and I pretty much lived and breathed programming. I had dreams about programming it was so bad lol!

And I didn't want to write bad code, so I made sure to learn the standards and best practices.

Security and speed where the highest priorities on my list, so I spent a significant amount of time making sure that everything was top notch. At one point I ended up spending about a month learning everything I could about encryptions, site vulnerabilities, and proper security. That was a headache, but I wasn't comfortable with handling peoples credit cards and not knowing about that stuff.

Also I realized that most programming languages are similar (the syntax is just different) and knowing one significantly reduces your learning curve in the other. Once I learned JQuery, learning PHP (OOP) was easier, learning PHP improved my javascript, and learning Javascript started to improved my PHP. So everything just started to interlace after a while.

I think I got a little too designy on my landing page! The pictures actually move by design, its called a prallax scroll.

I meant for it to give a cool touch to the site, but It might have the opposite effect because I don't think people are used to it.

I'm going to keep an eye on the stats and I might end up doing away with it all together. (Which would make it the fourth time I've completely redesigned the landing page lol)

These are great questions!

I'm not directly competing with Clickbank or Amazon, and certainly not with iTunes! But the comparisons are definitely valid, and I believe that Launchtagg offers a lot of things that Clickbank and iTunes don't. Heres a few:

1) Integration: You don't have to build an entire site, find a payment processor, choose a host, or all the other stuff that comes with creating and selling a product. with launchtagg, you just post the product, and the rest is pretty much done for you. It's much simpler and easier.

2) Sell Directly to you followers: In Launchtagg, you'll get your own page (Almost like Facebook). It will display your products, people you follow, and your rating as a seller. There's also communication tools so you can talk directly to your followers. I don't think anyone else is doing this when it comes to selling digital products.

3) iTunes takes 30% and there's no direct communication:
iTunes is obviously the better choice to sell a song if you don't mind giving up 30%, and your already an established artist. It would be rare for somebody to discover a new artist on iTunes. Also I don't think its a good communication platform between An artist and there fans. With Launchtagg, you can sell and communicate directly with your followers.

4) Launchtagg is a startup:
It might seem silly, but I actually think this is my biggest advantage. Clickbank and iTunes are already established and they're most likely not going to change. With Launchtagg I'm trying to be one of the leaders in this new "social commerce" space. And I want it to be shaped by the people I'm building it for. As a startup I can move quickly, and implement at a faster pace than iTunes, Amazon, or Clickbank can.

You photos on your landing page are only showing up on a IPad if you zoom in. The text banners show ok.

Speed +!

I'm intrigued by your idea - your landing page left me with a ton of questions about how this might actually work, though. Also, I'm having display issues thanks to having to use IE; some of your images obscure most of the text. There's also a misspelled word at the sign up at the top of your page, i.e., "we'll" vs. "w'ell"

Thanks for catching that! I have a bad habit of misspelling that word.

Which version of IE are you using? It might have something to do with how IE handles the Z-index's.

Also I'm interested in hearing your questions, and I'm sure that there's other people who have the same ones.

Love the idea and execution. I'm currently learning programming as a supplement to hiring freelancers. For Launchtagg I have 3 suggestions

1. Copywriting - Make sure the sales pitch and the writing on the site is perfect
2. Colors - The white text looks kinda bad and its hard to see at some points
3. Pictures - Change them to something more relevant

Hope I can help.

I can see benefits and disadvantages with this.

1. As a seller I want to control my sales process. If I were to sell on your site I really dont have a ton of control. You (as a seller) are more relying on your friends to sell. At least this is how it seems to me, based on reading this thread and briefly looking at the site.
2. With click bank and amazon you have your own site or page which you can design to increase sales, copywriting techniques etc are very important.

Is this accurate are you designed to have friends push the product? Is it based upon discovery within the site?

I could see why you would think this, and I probably should have been more clear. But no you don't rely on your friends to push the product. Similar to Amazon, you can create a page that you will design to your liking, using a "sales page creator" thats similar to Optimize Press (even easier to use But not as robust.. YET). So you have almost complete control over what it says and how it looks.

Aside from that, I have a plugin in the works that's going to allow you to integrate the page into any existing website you have. So people can buy directly from your site (wich will interface with Launchtagg). But I'm going to wait, and gain more interest before I think about releasing that.

As far as the social aspect goes, you can bring traffic to the page however you like, and then as your following grows, a lot more people will see your products in their feed, and you'll hopefully get even more traffic and sales that way.

So it's kind of a mixture between Twitter,Amazon, and Optimize Press . I hope that makes sense?

-- My main goal with Launchtagg is to make it dead simple to sell a digital product, and then just as easy to promote it

I think I was using IE9 when I looked earlier. I just checked out your page via firefox and it seemed to display fine.

Sounds cool, I look forward to following your progress. I probably should have just signed up for the beta testing so I understood the site better but I dont have any digital products to sell so didnt want to waste your time. Good Luck
