I’m at the very beginning of my entrepreneurial journey and currently focused on learning how to validate ideas before diving into execution. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been training my mind to spot problems people face. Most ideas fall apart quickly under scrutiny, but one survived a face level test:
An app that allows users to track custom habits and recurring pain (e.g. migraines), then visualize correlations with external data (weather, fitness trackers, etc.), all processed locally for privacy. To test whether this idea has potential, I tried a few basic steps:
- Competitor scan: Many habit/pain tracking apps already exist, though most rely on cloud storage and have limited analytics.
- Reddit outreach: Asked migraine communities if tracking helps. Responses were mixed—some say it’s too complex, others pay for existing tools.
- Concept test plan: I am considering to create a landing page with a “fake door” signup to gauge interest and pricing sensitivity.
My questions for you:

- How do you decide if something is worth pursuing further?
- What are your favorite early-stage tests to confirm real demand before building anything?
