Hello, I'm Vasco from Lisbon (, Portugal). I'm 16.
Inspired by Steve Pavlina's new posts on creating a passive income stream, I decided to do it. My first goal was to achieve $100 a month by December 31. I didn't give the goal much thought until a few days ago, when I started reading Steve's posts on Cultivating Burning Desire and The Power of Clarity (on setting clear goals). After that I tweaked my goal to make it even more appealing to me. It's currently formulated like this:
"I am now successfully creating a passive income stream by December 31, 2012, that generates at least $1000 per month on average and lasts at least 5 years, in a way that is creative and furthers my personal development as well as brings value to others."
Because this is such a challenging goal, my first big step towards achieving it is to prepare myself for it. This means making my environment a constant source of motivation and support. In order to do that I decided to follow the steps on Steve's Burning Desire article. They are: 1. Burn the ships, 2. Fill your environment with desire boosters, 3. Surround yourself with positive people, 4. Feed your mind with empowering information on a daily basis, 5. Replace sources of negative energy with positive energy, 6. Dress for success, 7. Use mental programming, 8. Take immediate action. If you want to read more about the steps, just read the article (Cultivating Burning Desire by Steve Pavlina).
I've already written down what I need to do for each step, and will start implementing it right now (and even more after I've done the same for my remaining 3 goals). Participating actively in this forum is part of steps 3, 4 and 8.
After I've 'prepared', it will be time to prepare even better :b by taking Steve's advice on How To Achieve Stretch Goals, which, in short, is to align my 'vibe' with that of someone who's already achieved the goal. So I'll have to, for example, replace limiting beliefs I may have about money and replace them with more positive ones.
The way in which I am planning to earn the money is through a blog (which I will later turn into a website with static content and the blog) on personal development. The specific sources of income I am thinking about using are affiliate links to amazon (and other) products, by reviewing e.g. books I found valuable on the blog, and also advertisement (I'm still exploring which ways I could best use it).
With this background info, and knowing that I am truly committed, will you help me? Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks so much for reading
