Hi there - I'm a 31 year old fighting to get out of the slowlane grind. Honestly, I've known for a little while now that the corprate scene is not for me and reading the book validated everything that's been on my mind.
I see where my life should be, but have been searching for the road to get me there. I've looked into buying businesses (laundromats, car washes, etc), but something keeps holding me back from it. I think in the back of my mind I know it would likely lead to more hours with no end in sight or I would just inherit someone else's problems, which I'm not really sure would give me the return I'm looking for. My frustration has been growing and I'm just trying to be open minded to the potential around me. I hate the feeling of having somone else in control of my career, but I'm struggling to find a path of my own.
After reading the book, I've decided to go after an idea I've had and it encouraged me to take a meeting with a friend who does web development to build the site I've been thinking about. I'm in the process of researching the competition and I'm hoping this is the first step in a new direction.
I'm here to be a sponge and learn what I can! And, hopefully I can give somehting back in the process.
