Okay so here are the two easiest ways that I have made money while I am in school. For a test market I decided to follow what RyanDrake was doing, only I didn't really have capital to break into buying and selling (rent + college tuition = no extra funds :eusa_naughty
So I went on craigslist and offered one of the skills I know like rooting phones.
Method 1: Rooting/Jailbreaking
If you're not familiar with rooting phones, it is basically taking a phone and unlocking the superuser access. It then opens quite a variety of options, custom User Interfaces, overclocking/undervolting, and free WiFi (which is what everyone really wants because Verizon charges $25 a month for WiFi hotspot, I can get them it for my fee).
Now, I was quite surprised by the amount of requests I got within the first week. Over 20 people! It was awesome I made over $500 that week on 10 hours of work.
Now I am getting a word of mouth referrals throughout my campus, and I have learned how to jailbreak the iphone which is serious money (because everyone has an Iphone)
! Word of wisdom the Jailbreaking Iphone scene is really flooded on CraigsList/Ebay so be careful. If you want to use this method learn how to do it on Android and then move on to other android phones.
Now here is where I am really trying to step it up
. I was recently contacted by a business who wants me to do all of his phones (he will sell the service for a high price and I'll sell it for my price). My plan of action is to eventually start talking a couple more stores to get a high inflow of phones. O and as far as the ethics, every person I meet with in my Student Center to show them how to use the phone, and I give them a .pdf through email, talking about how to flash rom's and so on. I also let everyone know that all of the information I use is available online for free, but a lot of people are afraid to mess with their phones. It was also declared completely legal to root your phone, although it does void your warranty. Now my question is should I start a subscription (kind of like an insurance, in case they break their phone (through flashing and messing with it) and charge them $5-$10 a month? Ethics are kind of important to me, but I am not sure if this is fair or not.... Although it would cause me to grow a little passive money tree.

Well this method you need a little bit of money, and you also need to find a place that can fix screens. I currently am buying a lot of broken screen iphones. I buy them for like $100-200 I didn't know this, but to fix a broken screen is relatively cheap, my store charges $85 and then I go on craigslist and sell it for $300-400. Pretty easy profit and strategy to follow.
These are the two strategies that I have in play, that I am using to save to launch my fastlane idea.
