"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" just officially became public domain as of yesterday.
It's copyright has been enforced for the past 80 years.

This is an opportunity to make a make a couple thousand bucks quick.

Record a well produced (yet very generic) version of it that can be used in videos/productions/etc. Price it competitively for commercial use and watch the dollar bills roll in.

@DennisDuty - I never even knew Happy Birthday was copyrighted until a few years ago.

I started wondering why restaurant waiters never sang Happy Birthday the normal way and always sang some kind of offbeat version.

Someone said it's because the song was copyrighted. (I guess because they are being paid while they sing it? I don't know)

Did you read about the Judge a few days ago now declaring this long-time-held copyright by Warner isn't valid? They may have to pay back some of the money. (est $2 million a year in royalties)
