marketing ideas for pet treats?

When you are about to launch a new product that you believe in strongly, but you are a complete newbie, when it comes to marketing, what do you do?

I am thinking about doing the following:
ads (google, facebook, reddit, etc)
ads through influencers
start social media posts
build a landing page
possibly launch a crowdfunding on Kickstarter/Indiegogo and pay them to boost my project (I will need a whole lot of preparation and research before doing this).

I also found a couple brick and mortar stores to sell to/at, but I am not sure what it will take for the product to grab attention.
What else can and should I do?

How much should you really be spending on ads and marketing in the beginning?
