Hi there fastLaners,

I just joined and wanted to say hello to everyone.
My intention for the business is lifestyle business only for now. Not enterprise.
I have an idea I want to work on, Only part I'm struggling is the choice of services.

So The idea:
Give local businesses a service that gives them:
- A Modern Brand new 3-4 Page Awareness Website = £799
-A 360 view inside the store which will be uploaded to their google listing =£299
-5 nfc Google review cards which will help them push reviews on to their online google listing. £99
-Professional Pictures with a DSLR camera of their store inside and out which will be displayed on their website and google lisiting. £99
total price £1295. I'll charge £999. cost is £200. profit is 799.

The reason I think this is not a conventional offer but an opportunity offer is that I supply 3 things in addition to a website which isn't supplied anywhere else. Of course they can do it separately but wouldnt you just get it done with a single company rather than getting 2 3 different companies? also this is cheaper. it would cost them easily 1300 whereas I'm charging 1000.

It would've been more of an opportunity offer if I told them that I Could also do this for you so this makes me a one-stop shop:
-Google My Business Profile management
-Social media marketing manager + content creation
-Local seo.
But for now I want to focus on one off sales.

what do you guys think?

I think your right.
My niches are

-salons
-beauty supply shops.

I'll conduct my market research this way and ask them 15 different questions. Give them a discount as an incentive when I go full in.
I'll go and offer four packages.

1. Web design £1000 one-off
2.Web design Google profile managed £250 per month
3. Web design £1000 + local SEO £400 per month
4. Web design £1000 + social media marketing £500 per month

Update
I'm Meeting a guy that has 38 retail shops under him for a coffee chat up on tuesday.
I've known him for 2 years on and off. So this is good news.

I'll talk about what he needs on the digital side of anything marketing-related. What his goals are and any pain points hes got.

Currently, I know He's setting up a marketing team from overseas so maybe he may not want my service but knowing his goal and dream outcome would be would be invaluable.
This will be really interesting! :)

Do you use local beauty business?

In my country the website isn't that important in this area. I'm talking about eye lash studio and things like this.
Here's the process how my girlfriends decides which studio she uses:
First simple google, looking at the google ratings and reviews, than maybe some minutes on the homepage but much more important are the social media profiles of the studios, if it has before and after picture of clients, the overall look, is the person sympathetic etc. and the most appointments are booked directly over whatsapp.

Maybe talk to some typical local beauty business customer on how they approach it and use this knowledge to make a offering package that focus more on the important parts and pain points on the type of business.

Update
I went out to 20+ businesses and Beauty owners weren't there for most. I tried different niches such as barbers and 6 out of 10 said they wanted it.
Went to pharmacies and convenience stores and they all said they had someone. I randomly went to an insurance brokerage firm and got invited into this networking organization. Absorbed a lot of knowledge from it and I think my better customers will be people that need Leads for their bussiness via ads such as plumbers, scaffolders etc.
Its like wherever I go people need something. I just need to go with a niche and just get started. I have a background of beauty retailers and I know a to z of the lingo.
I can start this agency for the beauty niche. there are 200 beauty retailers in Uk, every years there's around 20 percent growth so 40 shops/year.

Majority dont have social media. Only the big cats do in this bizz. So I believe I can start a social media marketing company for them with and addon of website and 360.
These guys make £8k/month net profit per month so Its safe to assume they can afford it.

Update of the millionaire with 38 shops.

The guy that had 38 shops wanted me to do something in another country with an investment. Ofcourse he did.
As of the service I approached him, He said he's getting a full digital marketing team for all of his shops in pakistan where labour is £300 per month 40hr/pw which makes sense.
There still are more than 150 shops aside from his So I think I'll stick with what I know.

If I was you I'd just get started with the barbers and see how it goes. A) because barbers are usually cool people + know a lot of people and b) you already have traction.

Thought I will say I don't think right now you really have to stay tight to one niche. See where the market takes you a bit.

and got invited into this networking organization
Let me guess 3 letter acronym starting with B?

Your right. barbers seem literally like the ideal clients I would love to have.

The beauty retailers is another option because my family owns a retail shop in london. Weve been operating for the last 19 years so I know the lingo

I'll say it didn't really work for me in my trade but I met multiple, multiple people through it and its events that were able to run successful businesses off of it. Some categories work with it and some just simply do not.
Were you doing a lead service for the businesses there?
why didnt it work?

I had an office cleaning business and while that sounds like it should work what I found was within the organization was mostly companies trying to make it still. Those sort of companies don't pay someone else to clean their offices.

The sales process can be drawn out in office cleaning sometimes because the bigger companies quote proactively in cycles to keep their current vendor in check and sometimes are in locked in contracts where it becomes a legal thing to drop outside of the contract end date.

I noticed B2C (mortgage, real estate in general, restaurants pushing their catering services, etc.) things did extremely well or more generic B2B (think sign printers, etc.). Things where sales are just more frequent and the pool of people to referral is much higher.

I used to work with the beauty industry a few years ago (pre-lockdown). The reason I stopped is because a) most high street and independent therapists don't have that much disposable to spend on marketing; b) they are mostly quite creative people who can easily do their own Instagram, plug and play web design, YouTubes etc and don't have the cash or inclination to spend on more specialised marketing. Beauty is a specialised industry from a marketing point of view. It's almost exclusively word of mouth, very siloed - e.g. you go to one place for your nails, another for your tanning etc - and very much locally based.

Apologies if this sounds like I'm being negative. I did enjoy working with some of the salons, they were all nice people! And it may well be a different experience where you are located. Good luck!
