Hello Fellow Fastlaner!
I appreciate you for taking the time out of your day to read another new member intro! Let's begin with a little background.
Name: Johnny Le
Age: 21
Location: Louisiana
All throughout my teenage years, I had no care in the world. I would do whatever, whenever each day because I had no solid future plans. The time came when I had to decide what I wanted to pursue after grade school. At the time I was interested in cars because I worked under my brother who owned a used car dealership, and on a whim I made a decision to go to Universal Technical Institute to become an automotive technician. During the time I was there, I felt as if everything was spoon fed and my interest in becoming a car mechanic declined. Half-way through the program I dropped out, only after a week about thinking on it. So as quick as I went into this trade, I left as soon as I decided to.
Right after I dropped out my father offered me a job under his contracting company as a welder. With nothing to do at the time and no other plans, I accepted the offer. The pay was pretty good, potential 6 figure job. The work required 8-12 hours each day with only two days off every 14 days. With this schedule I was able to clock in 60-84 hours every week. At the beginning I was enjoying the learning process, but as time went on I started to hate the working conditions. Months past and my health was getting worse and worse. And similar to my first career decision, this one also came to an end.
Searching for another career choice, I decided to attend LSU for a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Should I even go in depth on this? I attended for 3.5 semesters and dropped out.
As of now I am taking time off from making any major decisions and simply learning. With the help of my brothers I'm beginning to build a different mindset. I've begun reading numerous self-help books like How to Win Friends and Influence People, 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, Rich Dad Poor Dad, etc. At the same time I am also researching all of the possible ways of generating income and thats how I found the fastlane forum. It's like I'm looking at the world with a whole new lens! There are so many different opportunities within the entrepreneurial field that it just excites me!
Unfortunately I don't have any existing business plans in place, but in the future I know I will. With all of this "new-found knowledge" I am certain something will happen sooner, or later! Hopefully I can meet awesome people on my journey who have the same mindset as me because all of my friends are currently thinking 9-5.
With that being said, I sincerely thank you again for taking your time out of your day to read this!
