I'm not sure if I'll need a trademark filed, or a patent, or a number of patents.
It's more of a concept that I don't want people to copy. For example there's the idea of a social media website like xanga, yet myspace changed the dynamic, and then facebook changed it yet again to become even more personal.
I have an idea that takes an existing website concept to a whole new level and I want to protect it.
It's got that SIZZLE factor. That thing that you'd love to bring up with friends once you've heard about it. It seriously shines with viral quality. When it dawned on me I sketched it out a little more and then it became obvious to me that this can very well transform an entire web industry. This can be the next cutting edge. It's revolutionary. It's the very meaning of innovation. It can be the new landscape of the reality we live in. It's got that 'Put a dent in the universe' possibility in it.
So..
I'm looking up lawyers who will give me a free consultation. I just don't know if these guys would turn up nothing, lie to my face, and then hire someone to build it for them.
