Elon Musk - SpaceX, thought rocket ships were too expensive, and should be made cheaper and better.

There is a really good book that goes in to detail on how a lot of minds like these come up with:

. Being inovative without creating something new
. removing elements of products to better them
. adding elements on to products to better them
. etc...

The book: Inside the Box by Drew Boyd and Jacob Goldenberg

Worth a read if you have the spare cash and are serious about making products.

I would like to think that people that make products cheaper also share a genuine feeling to help out as many people as possible. They are not money hungry, but they know if they create a high quality product and sell it at an affordable cost, the money will follow as long as the customers agree with the product.

I think that's true for the most part. Most of these entrepreneurs shared a feeling of indignation with large companies like IBM, etc, because of their monopolies over the industries, and their lack of innovation.

These corporate conglomerates ripped off the common man, and these entrepreneurs wanted to provide a better and cheaper alternative to their customers.
