Ok, I have been walking down the affiliate marketing road now for almost 2 months. Revenue is slowly starting to trickle in, let me stress trickle, but I have learned a few good lessons I want to pass on.
1. Content is king and content is cheap. Why spend multiple hours writing 20 articles when I can pay $0.50-$2.50 and article and have my time to work my plan? Yes, $0.50 for a 300 word article. Very good English, grammar and spelling are often better than my own.
2. IMHO, unless you have great sales conversion, you money is better invested on SEO than on adwords. One site has climbed through a pack of 400,000 sites to 7/8 on page one of google. Yesterday, 9 visits, all free. Today 16 all free. That same traffic would have cost me about $5 through adwords. Yeah, $5 is not much, but once it is spent, the traffic stops. I should continue to find free traffic as long as I keep my SERPS up.
That is all so far. Next step- by this weekend, have the first niche blog scheduling out for three months, and start fine tuning conversion/landing pages. After that, move onto second niche.
