Lending books to friends

As I was diving into The Great Rat Race Escape by MJ DeMarco, I came across the part where he describes how people gift his book to friends, only for those friends to leave them unread. It gave me a good laugh, he’s not wrong! he really would be a billionaire by now. Case in point: I once lent The Millionaire Fastlane to a buddy, who never made it past the first page after having it for weeks. At that point, I took my book back and vowed never to lend it out again unless I see a serious (FTE) and someone who genuinely wants change. For now, it sits neatly on my bookshelf, where I revisit it every now and then.
