Hey guys and girls,

I just had a thought cross my mind recently, most jobs websites such as seek.com.au (Australian site) are based on employers paying a fee to list a number of jobs in the hope of a potential employee seeing their advertisement and contacting them/sending a rsume for further information.

Is anyone out there using a different approach where potential employees could create a profile listing things like their education, work experience, significant career milestones etc so that employees could perform a search for potential employees that match the parameters of the search and send out information to the employees inbox.

This could make money through a variety of methods from charging the employer a fee for each person contacted, advertising on the website and at the bottom of private messages sent etc etc.

I know craigslist has a section where people can post this but it is not easily searched through.

I am not aware of any sites doing this but if anyone can point out this idea in action or give any input at all I would appreciate it very much.

edit: I am not aware of any sites like this in Australia and I am searching myself for anything like it in America but I am sure if it does already exist someone here would have heard of it.
