Hello Everyone,
I'm Raphaël. 21 years old. From France.
I'll do my best to make this intro informative but short.
My Life Before TMF and Unscripted
I was (and still is as of now) a sidewalker.
Until February this year, I was part of the French Gendarmerie Nationale.
It's a a branch of the military that does regular police work both inside the military and among the civilian population.
While it was a great experience, and a job with a lot of meaning, it's also an hardcore scripted life.
Workweeks that could last up to 10 consecutive workday.
24 hours standbys.
No life outside of the 2 days of weekly rest.
To be fair, it also paid pretty fk well for a 18 years old who didn't know anything about the real world.
But something wasn't right.
One of the dark part of this pretty dark job is that you deal with dead people.
A lot of dead people.
Suicides.
Atrocious accidental deaths.
You get the picture.
It got me thinking a lot about life and it's meaning.
It couldn't be just it.
Why were some people rich and living their dream life while other lived mediocre life?
I refused to believe that my only chance at life would be spent in mediocrity and dreams.
I wanted to live my dream life. And I wanted to share it with my girlfriend, family and closest relatives.
So, naturally, I leased a BMW (lol).
I still carry the financial burden to this day (ends in a year and a half).
My train of thought was that I had to live some experiences while I was still young. I didn't know any better.
But I also started reading. I figured that if I wanted to have the best life possible, I should strive to be the best and most knowledgeable I could be.
The Over-Thinking Action Faker
2018-2019
I've read a multitude of self help book, and also financial book (Money: Master The Game; Ramit Sethi: I Will Teach You To Be Reach; How To Get Rich by Felix Denis...)
This is also the period where I got hooked by your typical money guru. I also brought and refunded a bunch of Ramit Sethi courses, except one that I kept and that I regret buying now...
I also tried to start you typical passion blog/website that ended up being a miserable failure. I also rushed to have a Logo made (typical crappy idea) on 99design. While it was interesting to learn to work with several artists at the same time, It cost me 200€ for a logo that was never used.
And then I stumbled upon TMF and Unscripted , and whole new world opened before my eyes.
My First Try At A Fastlane Life (Still Action Faking)
Summer 2019 - C0VlD-19 crisis
Armed with my newfound knowledge, I started to create a prototype for a high visibility tactical vest. I won't go into details right now but it ended up failing.
I decided to resign anyway and put some pressure on myself to make it happen and go fastlane.
As I am a fool, and was now without a job, I decided to start ... a blog. I quickly started to realize it wouldn't go far, and wouldn't make me enough to live before a long time anyway. So I ended up trying to shift my blog into a consulting business but it was a long time since I've read TMF and Unscripted.
By the way, this is when C0VlD-19 invited itself here and provoked the lockdown.
I started to redesign my website and hated the result.
It looked like one of those guru website which is going to scam you off your money.
Was it really? Maybe not. But the harm was done anyway and I scrapped the whole thing.
Introspection
2020 C0VlD-19 Crisis
So I started reading again.
And I spent a lot of time reflecting.
I ended up reading Unscripted again and I cried.
How could I be so blind?
Not only did I recognize my past stupidity and action faking (at last).
But I also rediscovered the only goal that matters : Add Value To Other Peoples' Lives.
Now
I started reading the forum a week ago and came across some wonderfull posts like
The Astonishing Secret by @IceCreamKid
@Lex DeVille 15 Days to Freedom and
a bunch of @Andy Black posts.
I started to follow Lex's post and take action everyday. I don't have time to post my work as of now but I do take the time every day to do the challenges.
As soon as I finish it, I'll do freelancing on upwork to get some money to fuel future ventures.
I will also make sure to join the INSIDERS to make myself accountable with the action takers very soon (and stay clear of the noise).
Thank you so much for your work @MJ DeMarco , I'm determined to add value to many people's lives.
If anybody has questions, you are welcome to ask!
