So I tried a few online businesses and failed. I'm trying an offline software services company but I've had to keep my prices so low to get customers, it's not really worthwhile and not at all fastlane.
So I've been doing a lot of walking and talking for the past week. Why? Well, looking for what people want of course, trying to find markets and needs. What keeps popping into my head is:
Is the West Closed for Business?
Now I'm no economist, but I don't see much economic activity going on. I've been walking around villages of a couple 1000, towns of 20,000 and 24,000, plus a mid sized city of 430,000 people. What the hell are all these people doing? Where do they get their income from?
Where are all the factories and industry? Where are all the offices? Where's the hustle?
Looking at all the houses, row after row of dwellings with no visible means of income but houses and sheds full of junk made in China.
All the abandoned or half vacant business parks selling supplies shipped from China.
Then I remembered half of the population is supported by the government who just print 'free moniez'. What about the other half, what do they produce and who buys it?
Does the West produce anything any more?
Is everyone else sitting at home wondering how to make money too? Should we seek our fortunes in China instead?
