I've been at this advertising game for a while and I havent gotten a single client yet(besides my dad). Now, I really, REALLY THINK online advertising is still a good idea, but I just want to get as many perspectives as possible. What do you guys think?

Why should a business pay you to manage their advertising dollars? What value will you bring to their table? What will be the returned on your services and advertising dollar spend?

If you can prove your worth to a company and show a track record to support it, getting clients will be no problem. There are so many small business owners out there looking for someone to drive constant sales to their door through a better advertising system.

If you can get the job done, they will not have the problem of hiring your business/agency to manage their online advertising.

I tried cold calling many businesses in my hometown, am currently moving my cold calling to Miami. Also been doing he usual, networking and conecting on social media, promoting my buisness, Done 15% discounts and currently offer 4 types of "contracts"

What are the 4 types of contracts?

I'm actually looking to hire a digital marketer - and I've been a digital marketer myself for a while.

I'm not going to give you money unless I'm sure I will get a ROI. Remove the doubt and I'll hire you.

However most agencies / freelancers want to get paid upfront for work, and then let the client HOPE that they get a ROI. Then they put in the bare minimum and tell you to wait at least 3-6 months (of you paying them + paying for the ads) to find out if the campaign will work or not.

Yeah, that isn't a good proposal for me as a micro business owner. I can't afford to take that sort of risk.

Give me a proposal that takes away most of the risk and we can talk, bring results and we can scale up to $100k/month and you can get a % of ad spend and bonus for the quality work.

TL;DR? What is your "no risk" Irresistible offer?

Oh you don't have one? You're offering the same thing everyone else is offering - without any reviews or track record. Yeah that's why you're not getting anyway.

First of all, I dont like the idea of the client having to pay for the ad, and WHY tell the client to wait 3-6 months for results. Should'nt it be in the first month ,get results.

Anyways, if you're asking me what my 4 contracts are, I have a 1,2,3 and 6 month contract. The 1 and 2 month are pretty self-explanatory. The 3 month is 10% off for the whole contract PLUS a whole month free ads, and the six month is like like the 3 month too except its 3 moths free ads after that.

You're offer isn't great.
The 3 months free is only useful or valuable if someone knows you'll be bringing results.
They don't know if you will or won't. So 3 months of Free advertising where they get no results is worth nothing.

I'd simplify your offer. Just have 1 offer. Make it a no-brainer, make it irresistible, take away the risk. And offer people that.

"Give me $500 to spend on ads for you - if I don't bring you at least $1000 in revenue, I'll give you your investment back in full. Not only that, but I won't charge you a setup fee nor will I charge you for the 1st month. So I'll either bring you results - or you get the $500 back."

Then YOU choose your clients - who are the safe bets that you know you can bring results for. Go to them and offer them that offer and they should bite your hand off.

You setup the offer like that because it will make you stand out from the other 100000000000 people offering digital marketing services and because you know they'll remain a paying customer so long as you bring them results, so the small investment upfront on your end could net you $12k/year or $24k/per year.... per client and each client might stay with you for 2-3 years.

Hope that helps ya. Don't need to make that exact offer, but you need to improve your offer and think long term about what you stand to gain - so that you can offer more upfront knowing that it will pay off for you long-term - IF you're not a charlatan.

I like that.

I once went to a phone repair shop to have my phone repaired. The guy looked at me and said "it will be complicated, so here's my offer. If I repair your phone, you pay me 25 euros. If I don't manage to repair it, I won't charge you anything".

There was simply NO WAY for me to refuse that, as, as a client, I was a winner either way.

He repaired my phone.

We're asking the wrong question.

"Freelance digital marketer" doesn't really mean anything.

It's too broad.

And it doesn't help clients understand the kinds of problems you can solve.

On the other hand, I'm a Freelance Email Marketer.

And I help clients create CONSISTENT cash flow with their email lists.

Usually, they'll make at least 10X their investment in less than 30 days WITHOUT paid ads, webinars, sales calls or complicated funnels

So my service, offer and positioning are specific.

And I solve an urgent problem

yep.

I’m a digital marketer and can sign 20 clients up in a weekend. How?

I make the offer irresistible. Pay me nothing and I’ll give you guaranteed jobs. When the job is done then pay me aswell.

Anyway I have a thread on here with how I run my model and don’t want to hijack this thread but your point is spot on.

Make your offer a no brainer!

It's too saturated now.. your target clients are probably getting a ton of similar messages/calls as you're sending from other digital marketers.. plus there are other digital marketing experts in lower cost countries like Philippines and East Europe/SA that can undercut your cost.. I think this was a better opportunity 2-4 years ago.. but you can still use those marketing skills to sell your own products/services and earn income.
