What a great forum! So glad I read the book and came to check it out, I've never participated in a forum before, so this should be interesting.
I'm a 32 yo Mum with a professional background but for the past 3 years I've been working in all sorts of different jobs to get by after being made redundant and splitting up with my husband. Yes, times have been tough but I've made mistakes, made silly choices, not done enough research and been too trusting...pretty much the same as most people who find themselves in a different place from where they want to be right?
The details of my story aren't all that interesting, or I'd share them, happy to if I ever chat and it comes up...but in the interests of keeping it positive and focused on the future there's no point in dishing details here.
For the past few months I have been looking for ideas to start my own business and done a lot of googling, reading, thinking, talking and no actual work. My son is 15 weeks now so a lot of that time I was heavily pregnant or dealing with a newborn with colic and at the same time going through separation from his Dad...so I know I haven't been in the right place to do much, however that needs to stop as I know I'll never get anywhere unless I start taking steps.
My sister and I have an idea and we're in the process of researching it, although not ideal as it will involve 'hitch-hiking' it's a place to start and if the idea doesn't stack up then at least the thinking process is moving in the right direction.
It is my goal to be able to pay off all my debt and be living comfortably and saving $1000 a week by this time next year. That will be a 1500% improvement!!! Ideally I will be involved in a venture which I can grow and scale to deliver an income of at least $200k pa within 2 years and grow from there. I want to create something I can be proud of that allows me to build a great life for myself and my son including heaps of travel and lots of choices.
Looking forward to finding my point of focus and starting my journey. Hope to 'chat' to lots of people here and learn and grow
