Hello all, I’m 22 years old, I read the millionaire fast lane as well as unscripted while I was in high school. I did 3 semesters of college and decided to get in the family business because what else I am going to do. My father owns several car dealerships so I decided to start my career at one of the stores. My father is very stern and doesn’t give any handouts, so I’m just a regular employee at the end of the day. Iv been in the car business for about 3 years now and have done pretty well for myself. Became a sales manager after selling cars for about 1.5 years. I was one of the best salesman at the store selling 20+ units a month. I make 6 figures and do have aspirations of owning the dealership one day. Best case scenario that opportunity will come in 10 years and if I have the capital to do so. But I don’t know if I want to wait 10+ years to get to where I want to be in life. Also as a sales manager income gets capped pretty fast as well. I have over 100k in my investment portfolio that I have built and saved for the last 3 years.
I am open to advice of whether I should just stay in my lane and take the long route of taking over the family business, or going a different route and obtaining success much faster.
