My name is Anthony I am 22 and I live in Wisconsin.
I have a little social anxiety so I've been nervous to put myself out there. To combat this I've thought about starting a YouTube prank channel where I do weird things to get out of my comfort zone. I've watched a lot of YouTube pranksters and admire the fearlessness they have of people which seems like a valuable skill anywhere you go.
Anyways I thought of a business idea one day when grinding pepper. It's annoying to grind pepper by hand. From this I came up with the idea of an electric automatic pepper grinder only to see that it exists and is commoditized making it not easily profitable.
Then I thought about doing something different. What if it was an automatic pepper grinder in the shape of household/kitchen objects (ketchup bottle, vase, candle)? This is something that doesn't yet exist meaning I could charge a higher price and garner more interest, but I'm not sure if it is very needed.
Since I've never started a business (besides a few YouTube shorts channels) I'm looking for feedback. I also cannot think of an FTE in my life so far, which I feel should be my first step somehow. which brings me to another question, can I sort of force an FTE by working a job I hate on purpose?
