I signed up to this forum earlier today so an introduction is probably the best thing to start with.
I'm Josh, I'm 20 years old, i've just finished my second year of university (I study mechanical engineering), i now work for an automotive company as a student placement.
Not long ago it dawned on me that my formal education was nearly over and i would have to enter the "real world". I decided i have 2 options with my life:
1) Finish my degree and work as an engineer for a company and do alright
2) Become my own boss, do things my way and determine my own future
The second option is what i've decided i'm going to pursue.I'm currently writing an app to use at work that will help me with my day to day tasks, BUT this app isn't mainly for work, its a learning tool. I'm writing it so i can learn app development. I know some people think its a waste of time, but i enjoy it and i think its something i could benefit from. In the next 2 years i plan to put a deposit down on a house which i will use to rent, and then sell on. I will hopefully also put a deposit down on a house for me and my partner to move into. As well as this i'd like to buy and sell cars. Cars are my passion and if i can do something that involves them i will.
As well as all of the above, i'd like to start my own business. Unfortunately ideas are few and far between. The ideas that i do come up with, i can never seem to find the solution to bring them to life.
- Luxury car rental company (I need big bucks for this to happen)
- Clothing/Tshirt design company (I can't draw, i don't know anyone that can, i have no idea about the process for creating such items)
- Luxury wheel designs (im not skilled enough with CAD software to design my own wheels, i need big bucks to start off manufacturing custom rims)
I'm hoping that through this forum i will build ideas in my head and learn the skills necessary to go through with something that i can call my own.
