By no means is this an attempt to advertise a book I'm writing.

I've been working on this book on and off for nearly 5 years now and have finished more in the past month since I started reading The Millionaire Fastlane than I have in the previous combined 5 years. Reading MJ go off about process (whereas before I was more interested in the event of having a published book) has motivated me to jump start that process and get my a$$ moving. Up to this point, things have been relatively smooth sailing but I'm getting ready to voyage into the unknown and could use some guidance when it comes to the hard of getting a book published.

To bring some context to light, I am obviously very green when it comes to writing or publishing books. I have kept it extremely low profile because I would rather be known as someone who published a book versus telling everyone I know, not publishing, and becoming someone who thought about writing a book. With that being said, I don't know any published authors personally and I thought this might be a good place to start getting some real-world advice instead of googling, "self-publishing vs. traditional publishing" (which I've done already). I have done a lot of research about how to get started and get my book into the hands of its' target audience but here's where I'm at a crossroads:

TMF talks about the Commandment of Control amongst other things. When it comes to publishing my book, is self-publishing the correct route to maintain control of my work? Or is going through a traditional publishing house more befitting of someone in my situation? Any tips, tricks, guidance, and advice would be greatly appreciated and hopefully provides me the same value I hope to provide readers of my book one day!

Here's some additional context since a lot of what I read online comes down to "it depends." I'm 27, quit my shitty job 3 months ago after vigilantly saving for over 3 years, I have another book that I plan on writing after this one is published, and am currently about 90% done with my current writing's manuscript. I have enough money saved up to afford much of the self-publishing fees that I've seen but would love some insight from someone who's gone through the process.
