I'm thinking about starting a porn business but would it be morally ok, and is the competition to high?

Now to be completely honest I was a huge porn addict, even today I take a glance at it but I've been on no fap for 4 months and am happy about that. I'm in the very early days of my entrepenuer journey and I was thinking of some ideas. I've actually come up with a lot, investing in small time real estate to get passive income, making really bad mobile games and just pumping them to the brim with adds for worse ones. Ect. But my top 3 I've been thinking about is porn, games, and food, I used to game for 12 hours a day or more. ( I limit myself to 1 hour a day now ) ate copious amounts of bad food and ate even when I wasn't hungry, and previously mentioned a porn addiction which may be in a weakened form I won't lie maybe I'm not ready for clean whistle status. But with the porn idea which is the focus of this post I know what porn does and the negative effects on society, like if you think porn is just a way to relieve yourself search it up on youtube, my spiral down the rabbit whole was a 30 second anime girl singing about the horrors of pornhub. But Since I've been a addict I got the mind of one which made me think about if I designed a website and what I'd do if I succeeded? Honestly I'd just sell it to pornhub for like 10-20 million. But is the morality of it ok? it ruins lives and other things, Adults can make there own decisions but I always wanted to make money clean, not by screwing other people over. Any takes would be nice
Porn can be a profitable business if you are a professional and don't care about morality and/or stepping over a few bodies.

In my opinion, based on your post, you're neither.

So you'd fail both because you lack the mindset of a pro AND because you lack the heart for it.

A pro thinks deeply about issues, is highly analytical, and can create solid plans that he has the discipline to follow-through and implement. Your post suggests very superficial thinking + lack of discipline.

In addition, if you're worried about moral questions, you're not a good fit to make millions in porn.

Start with something easier. Like freelancing (I know, @Kak will hate me for it). Or yeah, why not, getting a job in this case.

Obviously others have already pointed out the flaws in your post here @thequestion619 - you aren't seeking the NEED, or trying to give value for others. You are trying to fill your own wants, the stuff you like, first.

But most of the other users didn't give you value back or try to approach your need, though a couple kind of did. Ironic right? "Hey! You aren't giving value!" *proceeds to not give you value*

So my advice to you is to pivot away from the bad habits, pick one thing you can do now like cleaning your room, starting an exercise routine, or eating a bit healthier (just one! dont' overdo it) and then start thinking of ways to provide value to others. Not "business ideas," per se. Stuff other people want or need that you are equipped to solve or provide already. Even if it's cleaning something or fixing something, yourself, without scalability.

I use to love Anime and video games when I was younger. I don't dread the games I play I don't play as much as I use to, but the anime industry much more. The industry is so corrupt especially with anime.

Take a look around you, see all the girls on Instagram, Bumble, Tinder, probably all of the dating applications are filled with girls who show off "Content".

These girls know that "content" they produce = Money like mad from dudes who are addicted to porn. It's so sad... now a days it feels like to me you can't even find a decent girl in the online dating world because it's so filled with girls like this.

It has come down to the fact that I've completely given up on the online dating world. It's always "Hey I'm a content creator, do you want my content?" Bruh, no I don't want your content. I want to find a genuine relationship with a woman who has a growth-mindset. I don't want to to support you and what you do. It also doesn't strike me as a person who wants to work either.

I'm okay with finding a girl in real life, it's honestly so much better because you actually get to feel the rejections of girls you think are attractive. Dating and finding girls in real life could even teach you life lessons about rejections. But it could also teach you how to stretch your comfortzone, see what your made of and test your speaking skills, etc. There's a good book on this read it. The Dating Playbook by Andrew Ferebee. He focuses on how you are enough and how to actually date a girl, but also providing the the world value. It comes from the point of view of doing internal work on yourself and learning how to actually find better quality woman who have a healthy mindset and are not like girls I described above.

The Anime culture, especially for how it portays women in particular, has corrupted in my POV how young men think dating should be.

I use to be a guy who wanted to date a Twitch Streamer girl who was very popular or a cosplayer.

Now I'm disgusted because that kind of behavior just implys self-centered like behavior. Attention is king now days, it moves Money and fame like wildfire. When I see a girl who runs OF, I GTFO or run the other way.

What you are seeking here is justification and approval of something which is causing conflict in your conscience. Be sure, what exactly is your priority? Money or Morals? If money is your top priority and you don't give a damn about what others think, go with your business model legally. But, it will be a tough journey keeping it hidden from society, relatives, etc.

If morals is your top priority then forget this p*rn stuff, and start thinking of something else.

Wow. This is a lot to take in.

I can relate the OP. I also have porn brain and I'm Catholic, so it obviously conflicts with my beliefs.

(I know, my username seems ironic.)

I was upset about the thread that suggested that women should join OF while men thrive in other ventures.

Why? Because I used to dabble in sex work. I still struggle with the idea of getting back into sw because I feel it would be fun and glamorous and better than starting a business.

As someone who deals with porn brain, this is a terrible idea. It's going to overstimulate you with all kinds of images, videos, photos, and other types of content you want to unsee.

I still struggle with this idea on a daily basis. I know deep down I wouldn't feel better earning an income this way.

I would rather be successful earning money by helping others and offering a valuable service.

You're just chasing your unhealthy highs and that's not a good idea.

Focus less on yourself. Break away from your bad habits. Think about how you can be of service to others.

Plenty of people have already said something on the morality of the topic, but from a fastlane business perspective this sounds like a bad idea too.

You are supposed to care about your future customers. What are they struggling with most? What issues are they facing daily really? If you want to create another porn content business, you're saying their biggest problem is that there's not enough pornography out there. I think we can all agree that's not the case. More porn is a want, but it's not really a need. Moreover, it's a race to the bottom in an overcrowded market, no different from people wanting to write a book or release an album. Porn is a commodity item.

I saw someone mention the idea of starting a business that helps people lessening their porn addiction. Now, you might say there's probably way less people looking for that, and you're right, but it's also a way bigger problem for these people. And if you can solve that problem for only 0,1% of the people watching porn, you'll likely still make a gazillion bucks. Not saying you should or shouldn't go for this, but I'm trying to showcase the mindset you're in.

Stop thinking like a predator shark trying to make some quick bucks. It's not putting you in the mind space of wanting to help people, and it's exactly that empathy where the best ideas come from.

Personally I have zero problems with porn. I think the idea of hanging your whole self-discipline on nofap is ridiculous.

What I have problem with though is that you would be stealing videos. There is no way you would be able to get original stuff there - the barrier to entry is too high.

That might result in legal trouble and is morally wrong.

Regarding the argument that you would be contributing to bad mental health of the pornstars - the only moral way would be to get amateurs here - they usually are not f-ed in the head and actually enjoy posting.

Don't do it my man, find something else to do that would bring people value instead of ruining their minds.

Here's an article read about the effects of large porn addiction consumption.

Modern society is the most degenerate of all time. Why not try and make it better instead of adding to the degeneracy....

Personally, I wouldn't touch something that I thought was morally wrong and harmful. Not every product has to be righteous, but if you are repulsed by your own offering, I think you're going to have a bad time.
