Agencies/freelancers who promise they can deliver a wide array of services is a red flag.

It's highly unlikely they can do it all, let alone do it well.


Specialization is key. It's much more sustainable, believable, enjoyable, and you get paid more for it.

And I think you can niche down two levels and still do well, if not better e.g. instead of generic web design:
- Shopify web design for jewelers
- Wordpress web design for accountants
- Ghost web design for travel bloggers

Sounds as though you're leaving money on the table, but on the contrary, this is the quickest and easiest way to ensure your little table sees any money. And you can always 'graduate' to a bigger one later.

Pick one discipline. Niche down. Be the best in the world. Only expand once you're the leader in that corner of the industry.
