I am still pinching myself to think I have found answers to questions that have alluded me for the past 30 years. Finding The Millionaire Fastlane and the 2 sequels to it, has provided me with the tools I need to finally create the freedom in my life that I have long craved. What I'm looking for most on this forum is to engage with its members in a way I can give and receive value based on real life experiences. Experiences that will shed light on how those experiences fit or did not fit into the Fastlane framework. I see this as a journey and not a sprint.
I know it will take time for you to get to know me and that's because my backstory is long (I've been trying to find my way out of the desert for 30 years!) and I've had many hits and misses. If I'd only known this one thing from MJ's books--CENTS--I would have not had so many false starts. I'm super-educated but this is something I've not been impressed with or proud of because it did not produce the wealth of TIME that I've sought. I have a law degree, an undergraduate degree, an RN nursing diploma, and a business college certification as a medical secretary. Out of all of them, the one of most value to me is my education as a nurse. Through practicing as an RN, I learned the tragic endgame that can happen if you do not take your health seriously. As a result, I had no qualms about getting out of and away from stressful life situations. Like the practice of law--I walked away from it 25 years ago and I have no regrets about that. I'm healthy and on no medications although I'm from the older crowd.
If there was one thing I would suggest that would add so much power to your journey, that would be to take a deep dive into each one of MJ's books. Read all three books. Each book builds on the other. There is so much valuable information we all need to think about if we are going to be successful in creating that million dollar business, assuming that's what you want. As the books say, if we're looking to create that million dollar business, it must first be an opportunity that will bring value to a million people.
I'll leave you with this question: Are any of you trapped by "other people's" thinking? I ask this question because I started my adult life living it according to other people's thinking. The big one for me: "Get an education. If you get an education, you'll always find a job and be able to take care of yourself!" Wrong. It's more complicated than that and MJ gives you the reasons why. In UNSCRIPTED : Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship (Notice NOT money), he introduces us to how we've been endoctrinated into the Script's 9 Hyperrealities. OMG! This is good stuff, folks! I must list them because they bowled me over and hit me right between the eyes: 1) Named Days, 2) Consumerism, 3) A College Degree (This one really created an OMG moment for me!), 4) Hyper-Personality, 5) Virtual Reality, 6) Entertainment, 7) Money, 8) Freedom, and 9) Corporations. I'm not going to go into any of them on this post, but the explanation of these nine Hyperrealities contain pearls of wisdom I've not find in any other book, and I've read a LOT of books. If you haven't read MJ's second book, I'm hoping this will give you a nudge to do so. You will not be sorry you did.
Finally, I'm wondering why Audible does not have the updated 10th Anniversary Edition of The Millionaire Fastlane. It only offers the first edition. I found out because I wanted to have the e-book version as well, with the narration, so I can read and listen at the same time. It was not possible for me to do this because Kindle has the 10th Anniversary edition of the book and Audible does not. Therefore, it is not possible for the books to sync together so you can read and listen at the same time. I retain a lot more of the book's information when I can do this.
Until next time, I wish you all success in your pursuit of entrepreneurship!
