Hello! Longtime lurker here. Been in and out of the game but so much has happened since the summer of 2012, when I read the book, at the age of 18.
I can tell you all my struggles but really it's the little victories that keeps me going every single day.
Here's what happened so far and this is just scratching the surface of what actually goes on behind the scenes....
Lately I've been stepping up the process and I don't intend to leave this project hanging the way that I did in the past.
This is become a long first post but I'm glad to be here.
I can tell you all my struggles but really it's the little victories that keeps me going every single day.
Here's what happened so far and this is just scratching the surface of what actually goes on behind the scenes....
- March 2013 - made my first website and left it hanging.
- November 2013 - opened up on Amazon
- December 2013 - finally picked up where I left off and completed the website (crappy looking)
- December 2013 - made my first sale the day I went live but my checkout system was flawed because it asked for bank account information instead of being able to pay with a credit card. I was just starting out so this was my mistake.
- December 2013 - someone actually entered their bank account info.
- December 2013 - Made my first sale on Amazon (fulfilled by merchant)
- March 2014 - gaining traction
- August 2014 - sold my first item through FBA
- Early/Mid 2015 - left the biz hanging. I would go months at a time without touching my website. Most sales, if any, were passive with FBA. Some months were $350, some were $0, some were $250. I was just really winging it.
- Mid 2015 - Few international orders
- December 2015 - the "winter blues" - feeling stuck and hopeless but not giving up.
- February 2016- Graphic designer in India wanted my product instead of me paying her $ (this was, among other things, one of those "dude, it's time!" moments).
- March 2016 - Was on vacation when I received an e-mail from a business owner in New Zealand interested in purchasing 6 products. Then she wanted 10 now. The next day, bam. Sold. $165 total.
Lately I've been stepping up the process and I don't intend to leave this project hanging the way that I did in the past.
This is become a long first post but I'm glad to be here.
