I know that the title is kind of clickbaity, but I think what I did was definitely fastlane for my age. All of this happened in 2013-2014.
I was 10, and the summer was coming. All I was thinking about was going home and playing video games whole day. I had a few friends who were also interested in playing games, but almost none of them knew the games I was playing on Steam. I tried to ask them questions about how they were downloading games to play and realized that none of them knew about Steam. I am Turkish and it was understandable when you think that not many people speak English here, especially if they are only 10. I should find a solution to this problem before the summer holiday, but how?
I had a problem to solve, which is the whole point of a fastlane business. That day, I went home and did a few hours of research on how to pirate games (yeah, I know). Given that I had always been good at anything related to technology, It was not really hard for me. I pirated my favorite game Left 4 Dead 2 and burnt in on a CD. Next day I went to school and showed everyone what I had done proudly. To be honest, I was expecting only a few people to be interested in and my original plan was to gift it to my best friend just to be the 'cool guy'. But I realized that everyone was super impressed and even people from different classrooms wanted to meet me (class system here is a little bit different than the US). Now, I got that what I did was incredibly valuable according to the market, but I didn't even know what that meant at that age. So to get rid of tons of questions, I decided to tell them I was selling the CD and many other games like that If they wish. Suddenly everyone started to pay me crazy amounts of money for a kid and told me the games they wanted to buy on a CD. I had to take a few pages of notes to catch up with the orders. After classes I went to a local PC shop and bought lots of CDs for my clients (I feel like I'm explaining it so dramatically lol). From April to the middle of June, I made over $1000 and bought myself a PC, which is crazy when you think about it since minimum wage here is like still $500 per month after taxes. I also outsourced the process of pirating the games since It took me a few hours a day.
Now, I am 18 and believe that highschool really damaged my ability to think outside of the box, but MJ's books really challanged my mindset and I am here to learn from all the great people here.
TL;DR: I saw an opportunity, made some money using that and outsourced the whole process as a kid.
