My business was stuck.
Annual turnover was stagnant.
I knew something was missing.

Then I heard a talk from an energetic, smiling, inspirational speaker that changed my life.
It all made sense.
Get the right mindset, the right product and the right strategy and you've got it made.

I was hooked on personal development events. Motivational hits every few weeks. I mixed with hundreds of youthful, dynamic souls eager to live the dream. I was finally in my element.

Every self-help book told me to get a mentor. So in 2016 I took the plunge. I signed up to an exclusive £10k package. Small group sessions at international venues. Dramatic breakthrough activities. Personal telephone access. I was in top gear for 12 months.

After All that, the business didn't grow.
But I did.

Was it worth £10k?

What was your best self-investment?

So you read a book , written by a self-help mentor, to learn that the best way of self-improvement is to get a self-help mentor? Sounds like an intelligent upsell.
Was it worth £10k?

This question you can only answer by yourself. If your goal was primarily to increase your profits? Then maybe no.

I had only one mentor and this is the only thing you need to know from the all Motivational session you pay money for:

What does that mean specifically.

10k is an exact amount.

"I grew"...?

No one will be able to give you any meaningful feedback on this if its this vague.

Why didn't the business grow more? Why didn't his advice work do you think? What did it help with?

This was four years ago - map out the investment a bit more for us.

That's the marketing strategy. They call it story hook offer.

Was it worth £10k?
This question I think you are the only one who can answer and maybe you can think what is the value that has been given to you ?

I think it's not worth it.

I think that motivation comes from within and from people that are close to you and believe in your ideas not from people that you have to pay.

The only thing that matters is what you take away.

It can be! It depends on what you do with the new and improved self.

How did you improve? Are you in better physical health? Then you can handle stress better and work longer hours. Did you learn new skills? Then how can these be applied to provide value to people?

I just spent $4,000 over 7 months for mentoring.

My revenue more than trippled over this time. The reasons for this were 1) the mentor was in a similar field to my business of online teaching (coaches are teachers), and 2) my sales and marketing were very weak and he had a lot of experience in this area.

This is just a super low value thread.

- You give us no context
- You provide no real details about what happen
- You don't share any specific results

Not much different than... "I went on holiday but I spent 10k - was it worth it?" < who knows if that is all you tell us

I don't even see the purpose of this thread.
If it is to get a discussion going - what are we meant to talk about exactly?
It is is to get feedback - then how can we give it?

Add some real details.
